'Our family has been orcharding on this property for over 60 years gradually expanding it to its present 33 hectare or 73 acre size. We have traditionally concentrated on growing apples for export with 2/3 of the orchard being planted with some of the world's best varieties, such as Royal Gala, Braeburn, Fuji, Granny Smith, Pacific Rose, and Pink Lady just to name a few.'
'The rest of our Orchard is planted mainly with stonefruit including peaches, apricots, nectarines and plums. However, we do grow quite a range of European Pears as well.'
'All in all,we grow 85 different varieties of fruit commercially therefore extending our harvest over a long period of time. In fact, we pick the first of our peaches in late November/early December while by late April we have harvested the last of the apples.'
We use an IFP (Integrated Fruit Production) programme on our orchard. This allows us to greatly reduce the use of broad-spectrum chemicals but still allow us to produce high quality fruit. Click IFP for further information.
'We have always been keen to share our knowledge and experience in fruit growing with as many people as possible. We opened a Visitor Centre on the orchard in November 1998 which allowed us to cater better to the ever increasing number of people wanting to visit Hawke's Bay and experience our wonderful lifestyle.'

'Our Visitor Centre houses a Licensed Cafe where you can sit either inside or out enjoying a delicious brunch, lunch or just coffee basking in the ambience and lifestyle that is rural Hawke's Bay.'
